BNY Mellon, America’s oldest bank, has taken a major step into the future of finance by partnering with OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT. The bank will use OpenAI’s technology to strengthen its internal AI assistant, known as Eliza, which already supports more than half of its 52,000 employees.
With this new deal, staff will now get access to ChatGPT Enterprise, allowing them to quickly find information, write reports, and solve complex problems in minutes. The goal is to reduce time spent on routine tasks so employees can focus more on customer needs and strategic projects.
The partnership highlights a clear shift in U.S. banking, as major institutions adopt AI to improve efficiency and deliver better service. Experts believe this move positions BNY Mellon as a leader in digital transformation, showing how advanced AI tools can reshape daily work in finance.
This collaboration marks a turning point: artificial intelligence is no longer just an experiment in banking — it’s becoming a powerful part of everyday operations.
